Hello, Kaan here. I am a newly graduated civil engineer who lives in Istanbul, Turkey, even though I hope to move to Ireland or the UK in the following years. I genuinely enjoy travelling, meeting people from other countries, and forming lifelong friendships. I prefer to meet only kind and respectful people.

I had an Erasmus experience in Romania and an AIESEC experience in Tunisia. Furthermore, I recently attended some volunteering projects in the UK. On the other hand, I am about to start a new phase of my life, which is more about working rather than volunteering projects.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Firstly, I value practicing English, preferably with native speakers. It’s not a must for us to meet, but it gives you an edge, to be honest. Secondly, it makes me happy to form lifelong friendships. Thirdly, I feel like Couchsurfing enhances solidarity among people.

Couchsurfing reminds us that life should not only be about expecting something in return when you do a favor. Sometimes, you just do a favor (supporting others by hosting and so on), and your reward is simply your generosity.

Last but not least, Couchsurfing teaches us to be more understanding of each other, since we directly or indirectly face our differences.
