About Me
NOT HOSTING at the moment as I don't have a steady home right now. But can't wait to start hosting again as soon as I get somewhat settled!
I quit my job working as a translator in Riga, Latvia, summer 2018 to become a freelancer (because who wants to sit in an office every day when they can work in bed - or anywhere?). So now I'm a bit here and there.
I've hosted in Avesta and Uppsala (Sweden), Tbilisi (Georgia), Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany), Bern (Switzerland) and Riga (Latvia) and surfed with a lot of great people.
I think that Couchsurfing should go both ways - it's not just a way for some people to get a free stay, but an exchange.
I'm a feminist obviously.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it's a beautiful thing to help people out, so I try to contribute any way I can. Couchsurfing is a great way to travel that's helped me experience a lot during the years.
Interests
Travelling (surprise!), recently started scuba diving, interested in politics, Afghanistan, languages, cooking and lots of other things. I love flea markets and petting animals.
Music, Movies, and Books
FILMS: quirky movies, 80s comedies and anything with zombies, aliens and space. MUSIC: things like The Knife, Sportfreunde Stiller, Princess Chelsea, Kraftwerk, The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Grateful Dead ... BOOKS: Russian authors, Ali and Nino, American gods, and a lot more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Getting a little brother, hitchhiking with amazing people, getting to the top of Mt Toubkal, seeing Tusheti in Georgia, had tea with the President of Afghanistan in Kabul, visited Agdam in Nagorno-Karabach, knocking on the gate of a house in Stepanakert asking if I could sleep there and they said yes, made it through watching 4 hours of cricket practice with the Afghan national team without understanding a tiny bit of cricket...
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm pretty good at teaching people Swedish I think. I like sharing stories. When I host I share my home. I need to learn more about Dutch pronunciation.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a bunch of travel stories and other stories, I'm a good drinking partner if you like that sort of stuff, and I can do general hanging out.
