If I were to describe myself in three words, I would say enthusiastic, amicable, and joyful! Otherwise, my name is Assane, and I live to the fullest simply because I've always thought that a life full of regrets isn't worth living at all! Coming from a family of 5 in total, my beloved siblings were all born in Québec City, Canada. As a French-Canadian, originally from Guinea and polyglot, I didn't wait until adulthood to embrace what it means to be a citizen of the world. I've always been adventurous, seeking life-changing experiences and lifelong memories!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I am currently based in Ottawa, Ontario, having advanced my studies and concretized a clear idea for a career plan, but I plan to move in the summer of 2024. Over the past few months, I've travelled to several countries in Europe and West Africa, but I realize that I've done very little exploring in my native Canada.

As I'm planning to move away from Ottawa. I'm looking to fortify my life experiences in my own country by hosting, having adventures, meeting people from all over, and allowing others to travel the ocean of cultures around which they & I have gravitated.

This year, I'm looking to explore Canada and beyond, offering my hospitality too, and participating in the magnificent CS experience.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

As far as music is concerned, I listen to everything. Depending on how I feel, I try to favour a particular genre. My favourites are post-rock when I'm studying or working, alternative rock for more fun times, and EDM when I'm out at night.
My favourite bands are The Vaccines, The Chainsmokers, Sigur Ros/ Jonsi, The XX, and Metric, to name a few.
When people are asked what their favourite song is, they often struggle to answer. Personally I love Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros.

My favourite movie and books are Brooklyn (with Saoirse Ronan) and the three parts of ' His Dark Material ' saga by Phillip Pullman.

I went bungee jumping last summer, but the most interesting part is that I wanted to do it again right when I did it!

Teach:
I'm a tutor part-time, and I love languages too! I'm comfortable tutoring most pre-university components related to English, French, and Humanities.

Learn:
While perfecting my Spanish, I aim to speak several other languages! Languages, among others, build bridges through people and allow one to be self-aware in an increasingly cosmopolitan environment

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

My favourite meal is this yummy shepherd's pie since it's a really easy meal. I'd love to cook it for my fellow couchsurfers. Otherwise, I'd love to share a few words in Malinké, a language from Guinea or pictures of there as well as simply good company.
