HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't hosted anyone yet, but I am looking forward to the experience. I am very interested in the surfing aspect, getting to know people from the comfort of their homes and hometowns, seeing an insider perspective on a new culture.

Interests

biking everywhere, urban farming, collective and off-the-grid lifestyles, graffiti, radical theater and puppetry, political activism, gender bending, culture shocks, lunar cycles, horses. I'm not a hippie. really.

Music, Movies, and Books

I want to make stop animation and short films so I revel in the works of Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Michael Gondry, Brothers Quay, Jan Svankmajer, and anything during that amazing period in Czechslovakian history (Czech new wave) of the 1960's.

Music I like would include the Knife, Fever Ray, The xx, belle and sebastian, bon iver, and many others.

right now I'm reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. it is my favorite book at the moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know a lot of conventional skills. I can teach about how to make shadow puppets, how to run a Free Store, how to organize a rally, how to build a garden on your roof, how to build a garden in the center of your city, how to ride a bicycle anywhere.

I'd like to learn a new song on the piano, how to play the violin, learn about new songs, new recipes.

I love sharing food. I want to share a communally prepared meal with new people.
