I am a 40-year-old adventure seeker originally from the Czech Republic, but I have called the UK home for the past 20 years. Traveling and meeting new people from diverse cultures is one of my greatest passions. I am embarking on an exciting 9-month journey , with plans to explore India, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Additionally, I am looking forward to walking the Camino de Santiago in September 2024. I am thrilled to connect with fellow wanderers and discover the unique stories and perspectives each destination has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the primary reasons I'm excited about couchsurfing is the opportunity to truly immerse myself in local cultures and lifestyles. Rather than just being a tourist passing through, I want to experience destinations through the lens of the locals who call these places home. By staying with hosts, I hope to gain an authentic glimpse into their daily routines, traditions, and perspectives. Sharing meals, meeting their friends, and seeing how they live can offer insights that simply aren't possible when staying at hostels surrounded mainly by other travelers. 

Interests

In addition to exploring new places and meeting people, I'm passionate about an active lifestyle. I love sports and hiking. After a long break since age 17, I've rediscovered my enthusiasm for chess. Nowadays, I play chess at the gym while walking on the treadmill at 5 km/h with a 7% incline. Though not a professional, I enjoy the mental stimulation chess provides. During my travels, I hope to continue playing this cherished game. Audiobooks and reading are also hobbies that keep my mind engaged

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most awe-inspiring travel memories was a 3-week journey through the natural wonders of Argentina. As I stood before the majestic Iguazú Falls, I was nearly moved to tears by the sheer power and majesty of the cascading waters.
