About Me
I am a 25-years old teacher and I have finished the Zielona Góra University one year ago, obtaining a
Master’s degree. My specialization was pedagogy, however, my first and foremost passion was
literature and I have written my M.A. thesis about the poetry of William Blake, whose works inspire
me as well when I teach English to people of various age. My thesis was about the struggle of heart
and reason which is also a leitmotif that prevails in the writings of William Blake.
I am also passionate about music and I have played live shows with bands and as a solo artist
performing my own compositions which I reckon is an important factor as far as the teacher’s
profession is concerned as it increases the level of creativity and allows one to use music as a powerful
tool of passing knowledge. I find it also helpful when I need to improvise, in life in general, to play by
ear when there is no certain script. I also write poetry and I think it just adds more freedom and yet
more creativity to the process of teaching.
I have been teaching English all my life, both in Poland and abroad. I have done an Erasmus+ teaching
practice in the south of Italy, in Soverato. Currently, I am doing an EVS voluntary in Portugal. One of
my tasks is to work with kindergarten kids aged 3-6. I attached one photo of me playing football with
the kids just for fun in order to get them know better. In Poland I worked with children from various
age groups and I found the most interesting to work with children aged more or less 8.
I can speak fluently English and Portuguese and I have a satisfactory level of knowledge of Italian and
I can communicate on the basic level in French. I would love to learn German and I think I would
need some 3 months to speak more or less fluently as learning foreign languages is quite easy for me.
I also love travelling and I think I have been to some 10 countries in Europe. The most fascinating for
me is the south because the culture appeals to me in a special way.
I could describe myself as a very open and easygoing person that achieves his goals without great
strife and with a lightness of being, I presume. Maybe the others would say differently but this is how
I perceive myself. When teaching, I always try to let the student speak as much as possible and I make
references to the passions and hobbies of students because when they speak about their likes they learn
faster and they have much more fun of it than when it is done in a classic Victorian teacher-centred
manner .
