About Me

We're Sandra from Chile and Robert from Germany. We've been travelling the world together since 2021.

Used to live in Australia's Central Queenslqnd before that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting people when travelling, be it to stay with hosts or just to meet locals or other travellers to hang out and explore the area. Unfortunately I can't host at the moment, since I left Australia in February 2018 and have been travelling more or less unplanned since. But I'm sure that I will be able to host people again a soon as I have a more of less permanent place to live at again, where ever that may be.

In the last years I've hosted a few times in Germany and mostly in my house in Australia. This was not only through couchsurfing but also through various backpacker groups on Facebook, hitch-hikers, random people met on the road etc. Rough guess I'd say I may have hosted more through such occasions than through couchsurfing itself (altogether maybe 25 people so far? Not entirely sure).

So far I have only made good experiences both surfing and hosting with one tiny exception. Let's face it, no one gets along with everyone.
On my days off or after work I'm trying to spend time with guests or go for visits or road trips.

Interests

travelling, photography, good books, cooking (and eating) good food, coffee, other cultures, kayaking, hiking, fishing, camping, nature, languages, etc bla bla

Music, Movies, and Books

The Maxim-Kammerer-Trilogy by the Strugatzki brothers. Paul Carters both hilarious books "Don't tell mum I work on the rigs" and "This is not a drill" of course. Worth a read. I also loved Jack Kerouac's "on the road" and "der Scharlatan" by Hermann Kesten.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many things to do think of one specific one.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking and am keen to learn new recipes from all over the world, and can probably show you one or two things I have learned to make elsewhere.
Im interested in languages, although I struggle learning new ones.aa

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to lend a hand in your household, or cook a meal or two for you. Most of the times it actually turns out edible.
