Overview
About Me
Hello my name is Kaela.
I am a friendly, quirky human being who was born for adventure.
I am an international traveler and artist.
I am a poet, lyricist, and I play the guitar.
I am a low-maintenance guest, easy-going, and super goofy.
I love yoga, meditation, camping, and hiking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been traveling across the globe researching and documenting various spiritual centers, volunteer centers, and sacred sites in Latin America to make them more accessible for other young international travelers/seekers.
I am just returning from 7 months working on projects in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Mexico with my partner Dan. I am currently traveling alone in the United States doing fine art modeling in various beautiful locations across the Western States.
Interests
I (Kaela) am a reiki healer, massage therapist, dancer, and an art model. I have spent several years living in South America and I am fluent in Spanish. I am currently a Communications major.
Dan (my partner who I often travel with) is a talented videographer originally from NY, and has many years experience as a chef and caterer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have actually been arrested for trying to meditate in Peru ;)
I was caught sneaking up the side of the mountain,
on my way to get into Machu Pichu to meditate in the full moon.
I was taken to the local police station and fingerprinted.
But as soon as I started talking about
Mamakilla (the Quechua word for mother moon)
and Pachamama (the mother of all space and time),
they realized I wasn't a young ruffian or vandal.
And they let me go with a handshake, a smile,
and a traditional Quechua goodbye.
Teach, Learn, Share
There is so much to learn in this world, and so much to teach. It does me no good to have expectations for this great journey we call life, so I do my best to remain open to whatever comes my way.
