COVID edit: It may go without saying that as a midwife and master scientist, I believe strongly in harm reduction, following public health measures, and vaccination!

travel is my education.

I'm a student without an address, a vagabond abroad. I've been away a long time now. Each new place I go and each new person I met, I realize more of who I want to be and how I want to live.

PHILOSOPHY

Simply put, I try to live my life in a way that upholds and affirms the dignity of my fellow man. I have so much still to learn and hope you can share some of your hard earned wisdom with me along the way.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have participated in couch surfing as a 'city ambassador' since 2008 and as a surfer and host since 2010. I've had fabulous experiences with this community and do my best to recruit other travel bugs to join. Right now I'm hosting as I prepare for my next big adventure- a slow journey across America!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I genuinely am grateful to past hosts in the US and abroad for sharing their homes and families with me. Couchsurfing allows dreamers to explore the world. Every CS experience is different but coming from a large, loud family I most enjoy houses that are packed to the brim with roommates or surfers or children- feels like home!

Hard to choose 1 favorite book considering reading is one of my favorite pastimes... Just finished a graphic novel about mental illness last night, a book about the Highlander School last week, and am currently reading a book about contraceptive controversies. I LOVE sharing books so please bring one you enjoyed and we can swap.

I can teach you how to cook Sunday dinner- fried chicken, okra, corn bread, mashed potatoes, ice tea. Or we can make the healthy version of it :)

And, in exchange, you can teach me how to cook a meal you grew up with.

I can share an afternoon, a yoga practice, a few drinks, a dinner table, a day hiking, occasionally a couch...
