About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bringing light & music to couches everywhere

ABOUT ME

I love meeting and learning about new people and their life experiences. I enjoy going to concerts, theatre, cinema, museums, sight-seeing, traveling. I'm a voracious reader and frequently donate bags of books to the public library because I run out of room for them!

I'm a musician - clarinet, piano, singer, composer/songwriter.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm interested in personal and spiritual growth, and have a sense of adventure and openness to new ideas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm happy to meet someone for a drink, coffee, or sightseeing if time allows. Depending on availability, I'm happy to host 1,2, or possibly 3, people in my sitting room.

Music, Movies, and Books

Where to start? I like everything from art house films to action adventure flicks. I love immersing myself in another world for a couple hours, especially when there's popcorn involved!

I just finished reading Matt Frei's "Only in America", a great read. Anything from current events to fiction, health, astrology, spirituality. Some of my favorite recent reads are the Ross O'Carroll-Kelly books about life in Dublin 4, hilarious!

Musically I listen to & have studied/performed styles ranging from classical to folk, rock, pop, jazz. Love Joni Mitchell, Jeff Buckley, Alison Krauss, Bartok, Jimi Hendrix, Andrew Bird, Johnny Cash, etc, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I visited Ireland in 2005, fell in love with it and a year later moved here without knowing anyone or having work lined up! It was a risk that paid off as everything has gone remarkably well and I haven't regretted it for a day!

Teach, Learn, Share

In Ireland I've become friends with many Polish people and I've learned to speak a fair bit of Polish, which is really fun because I get to use it on a daily basis.

I teach, learn and share music!
