About Me

I'm currently say I'm in transition. I've spent all my life growing up in the UK, through school, university and the working world. After several years working in the finance industry, I decided it wasn't for me and packed it in and went to travel the world, primarily Latin America. Now I am starting a Masters in International Development at the University of Amsterdam.

My parents are Ghanaian and I go back there every few years. I like to think the laid back nature of Ghanaians is reflected in my personality. I'm generally an easy-going guy with a love of travel, music and sport.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting new people. I find it is the best way to learn about the world and other cultures. Ultimately, I love chatting nonsense with people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
Largely depends on my mood and situation but over the years it has become fairly mixed. My favourite artists of present include Kendrick Lamar, RUFUS, Tom Misch, Bipolar Sunshine, J Cole, Disclosure, MNEK, Calvin Harris, Shift K3Y, Sigala, Felix Jaehn, Matoma, Anderson Paak, Zak Abel, Pusha T, Childish Gambino, Frank Ocean and so on...

Movies
I've got to say I love thrillers and have developed a soft spot for marvel movies. A guilty pleasure is horror movies, but I only think they are worth it if watched at the cinema. If I gave my top five movies, in no particular order they'd be The Usual Suspects, Godfather I, City of God, Untouchable and The Departed

Books
I wish I read more than I actually do but generally I'm either into a good thriller, a classic or non-fiction books regarding society. Recent reads include The Psychopath Test, Outliers, We Need to Talk About Kevin, Catch 22, More Human, The Spirit Level and Catcher in the Rye.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, and I'll never go near it again

Teach, Learn, Share

English is my native language, my Spanish is conversational and I am working on my Dutch and French. I enjoy cooking group meals and sharing beers/wine whilst watching low quality television.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Interesting conversation (I hope) and self-deprecating humour (more likely)
