Hello my name is Kaila. I am a student originally from New York but I've lived in London for the last year. I am currently pursuing degrees in Neural Science and Applied Psychology but I ultimately hope to work in business. This year I studied abroad in London and I had such a blast. Before coming to London, I had never traveled outside the United States but I've dreamed about traveling the world since I was a little girl. My family never had much interest in travel, but my parents always told me that when I was an adult I could make traveling my priority...and that is exactly what I have done. By the end of this year I hope to have visited over 30 countries and some of the most important landmarks in the world! I really believe this is just the beginning of my lifelong passion for traveling and I can't wait for a lifetime of global adventures.

I believe couchsurfing is an amazing opportunity because it allows travelers to experience a place through the eyes of locals who are proud to share their home. Of course I enjoy seeing tourist attractions, but my favorite experiences involve interacting with new people from around the world and learning about their life experiences.

兴趣

I have so many diverse interests its hard to just name a few. I have always loved music and theatre, in fact I almost pursued it for a career. Even though I have changed career paths, theatre and music are still some of my greatest passions and I love to experience them around the world. I also love photography. I am not very good at it, but I love to find interesting ways to capture the things I see on my travels so that I can look back on them and remember all of my adventures. Most of all, I love to learn. Museums, books, traveling, language...I love anyone who can teach me something new!

I love every kind of music but my favorite artist is Damien Rice, who is an Irish folk singer. I haven't watched a movie in quite awhile but my all-time favorites are Good Will Hunting and the Shawshank Redemption. I absolutely love to read and it is almost impossible to pick a favorite book. Right now I am reading a book called Amazon Beaming which is about an explorers encounter with a remote tribe in the Amazon.

I earned a full scholarship to college and I am almost completely independent at 20 years old. I fund all of my own travels through countless hours of work. I am very proud of myself for working so hard and achieving my dreams.

Having the opportunity to teach, learn, and share are some of the reasons I love traveling so much. Whether it is helping someone practice English or learning to eat cous cous with my hands, I will take every opportunity I can to learn something new.
