ABOUT ME

I'm currently a student at California State University in Florence, Italy. I am 23 years old and want to travel as much as I possibly can.
I grew up in a very small town in Northern California, and the fact that I am now living in Italy for a year still blows my mind!
I sadly can't offer anyone a stay with me because of the law in Italy, but I would appreciate anyone to let me stay with them!
I love art, art history, photography, food...especially food... :), wine, cooking, nail polish, and traveling.

PHILOSOPHY

I have to say that I strongly believe in everything happens for a reason, because of this, not much gets me down. I just understand that the universe is trying to tell me something and that it should be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in Paris and it was a great experience. Now, also in Belgium, and soon in Malta. Hosting my first guest in a few weeks!

Interests

I love to read, listen to music, travel and meet new people! I know this is a typical description, but it is all true. In Florence I work with a local high school and a local family doing language exchange. I am also active in the Student Advisory Board and my school and love being involved.
My major is Art History, so obviously I am a lover of all things art and history.
One of my favorite things though? A book, in the sunshine, with lemonade and shortbread cookies. And I have to be wearing a sundress.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many many films, from action packed thirllers, to documentaries to the typical chick flick. One of the best times I have ever had was attending premiers at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. An amazing showcase of interesting plots, stories and angles.
Music I am also very aclectic with. I'd have to say some of my favorites are big band swing, pop and classical. I know it's an odd mix but that seems to be what I always turn to.
Books, I love fiction the most. Real life happens everyday, so escaping in a book is fun and exciting. Some of my favorite are series. Like the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz, the His Dark Materials Trilogy by Phillip Pullman, and of course Harry Potter. Some others I can give honerable mention are "Merel's Door" by Ted Kerasote, the classic The Great Gatsby and so on. I have read literally thousands of books. I'm just starting on Dante's Inferno.

When I was in Yosemite last, I did this thing called the Alcove Swing on El Capitan. Youtube it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn: anything about any other culture. Like why a certain Piazza is named the way it is, or why a certain slang word is used, etc. I want to learn why some people choose to drink red wine over white. I want to learn what you mom did as a teenager and if your grandfather was in a war. I want to learn what YOU think about the United States, about our government.
What I can teach you? : Anything about rock climbing, basic Italian, why California is amazing, some of the most random facts you will ever come by, stupid pick-up lines, and what proper footwear is.
