ABOUT ME
Currently getting my MFA in Ensemble Based Theatre at Dell'Arte International, enjoying food, people, and long conversations.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe most everything happens for a reason, that there is some sort of higher power, and that too much of life is spent not trusting the human race -- signing up for couchsurfers was one of my ways of putting my faith back into humanity.
The world is a great place, our lives are fantastic blessings, but we can't get through them alone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed my way around the UK in 2009 and my experience was 10 times better because of it. I plan to host and surf often in the future. Surfing throughout the Pacific Northwest was even better. Topping the list was surfing and WWOOFING through Germany/Czech Republic in 2012.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Favorite experience: surfing in Ireland. I wasn't too excited about Belfast, then our host took us on a tour, told us the history, we dug up potatoes in his garden, and fixed a magnificent midnight meal! It was one of my favorite stops!
Second Up: Surfing in Seattle with a CSer from my Ireland trip of two years prior, then also with an awesome guy who took us on a wild car ride so we could catch the Victoria Clipper on time. It leaves at 8. NOT 9!
Interests
There are very few things in the world I love more than Food, People, Theatre, and Traveling. I am a great eater and one of the most exciting people to eat with (quoth one of my professors). Theatre is the majority of my life -- I'm a collaborator, director, performer, and writer.
Other than that, I am interested to know you! I'm all about that cultural exchange.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
New Year's Eve: 2006, Trafalgar Square, London. I will never forget it.
Climbing Arthur's Peak in Edinburgh. Ah, peace.
Teach, Learn, Share
"Men are born mad. Some remain so."
-Waiting for Godot, Samuel Beckett
"My work is killing me. But if I stop I die."
-Antonio Fava on Commedia Dell'Arte
Theatre is more than entertainment: Augusto Boal created Theatre of the Oppressed in the early 1960s which is a style of theatre that focuses on social justice and social change. Instead of creating a stage-audience divistion, when the actors reach the climax of the plot where the oppressed are being just that - oppressed - the play stops, and spect-actors take the actors place to attempt solve the problem onstage.
In short, TO provides a method to use theatre to show the bigger picture of injustice in the world while in turn empowering the spect-actor to overcome his own oppression.
You should look it up!
