Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am in search of a truly unique experience- to mingle and meet some fresh adventure warrior faces. This will be my first trip abroad (better late than never), so it would be incredibIy helpful/encouraging to not only have a place to rest my head for a bit, but also the company of another more familiar with the area. I plan on spending 2-3 months in New Zealand as it is the one area abroad that I have always gravitated toward. I love the mountains and have heard that it can offer solace given its size and beauty. I was recently issued a working holiday visa, and hope to put it to good use before next October. Basically, my goal is to try something entirely new in the hiatus I have decided to take from my teaching career of three years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went skydiving following my first year of teaching.

I jumped into Crater Lake in central Oregon this past August- some of the most amazing azure liquid I've ever encountered.
