Overview
About Me
Started a new chapter in my journey through life at the age of 26.
Set off to travel Europe solo. Then completed my volunteer service with the U.S. Peace Corps. After living in Kosovo for 2.5 years, I decided to stay in Europe and have settled into a small studio apartment in Germany with my partner.
I hate to describe myself in these things, because I don't think you can ever capture the essence of someone in a few words in an "about me" section.
But here goes: I'm an open mind, unjudging. Discrimination, prejudice, racism, sexism: these have no place in my life! I love to laugh, and happiness will always be the most important. I hate materialism and greed. I love music, I love to move: dance, hike, swim, you name it, I'm in! I love feeling the energy of the people around you.
I enjoy meeting new people, hearing new accents, experiencing new cultures, tasting new food, having conversations over coffee or drinks, getting lost in the rain, singing to myself or whoever cares to listen, living life my way and leaving behind as little damage as possible in this world and the people in it :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At 27, I finally let go of excuses and decided to take the opportunity to see a bit of the world!
I had never even heard of couch surfing. A friend in Prague suggested it to me, and I thought it would be an interesting way to travel and meet new people!
Now I am a bit experienced with traveling due to the fact that I never stopped!
I hope to eventually be able to host other travelers and give back to the community☺️
Interests
Walking, hiking, swimming, camping, travel, reading, music, festivals, psychology, sexology, health, nutirion, coffee, wine, beer, trying new foods, exploring different cultures, good conversation, dancing, new experiences!
Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: I listen in my free time to rock, alternative, some metal, and a bit of modern stuff I'm not even sure how to classify!
But honestly, I love music in general! I like music that makes you feel, makes you move!
BOOKS: it's extremely sad, but I've stopped reading these past several years. Just picked up a book to travel with, "Eat, Pray, Love" and loving it.
Some authors that I love, and did love growing up:
Anne Rice, Dan Brown, J.K. Rowling, Lois Duncan, Madeleine L'Engle, Caroline B. Cooney, Dean Koontz...
MOVIES: I am by no means a movie buff, but can enjoy a good movie from just about any genre :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Allowed myself to really start living. Stopped doubting myself and making excuses and eventually fulfilled a life long dream of serving with the U.S. Peace Corps as a volunteer for 2.5 years.
Now I can't stop traveling!
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmmm, it's strange when you think about what you can truly offer the world. It may not be much but here's what I came up with:
-Conversation
-Intellect
-Dancing partner
-A shoulder to cry on
-a friend to laugh with
-hiking partner
-stories of travel
-an open mind
-a loving heart
-a weird sense of humor
-and of course, I can teach you English :-)
