Hi!

My name is Kaitlyn. I'm a 27 year old, former-young professional from the United States. I graduated from Virginia Tech with my Bachelors degree in 2012. I went on to work in Marketing for 4 years in Washington, DC for a government contractor and then a technology start-up. While working full-time, I was also attending graduate school at night. I completed my Master's degree from Georgetown University in August 2016 and decided to leave my job and home to travel the world.

I was first bit by the travel bug when I studied in France and Germany during the summer of 2010. I had the opportunity to travel to seven different European countries during that time and I haven't stopped traveling since. I was often overwhelmed thinking about all the places in the world I wanted to see in my life which is why I made the decision to take a year (or more) off from working to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently on an around world trip and I'm looking to make some new friends as I travel! What better way to make friends and get an authentic experience in country than crashing on someones couch?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Accidentally spent the night at the home of the Mayor of Paris
- Went Canyoning in Switzerland (and almost died)
- Went to a public viewing of 100,000+ people in Amsterdam during the 2010 World Cup (Holland vs. Spain)
- Celebrated Holi on the beaches of Goa
