Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and meet new people! A friend introduced me to some couchsurfers once and I loved the concept so thought I'd jump on board.

I hope to do some extensive traveling in the future so would love to be able to utilize this unique and amazing resource for meeting new people and exploring the world.

Interests

I love trying new things so I am always adopting new hobbies. My lastest hobbies have included teaching myself photography and guitar! I love the outdoors: hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, or just laying on the beach. I also love doing anything "home-maker"from interior design and DIY-ing to hosting dinner parties and trying out new recipes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love a variety of all three!

Huge book series fan: harry potter, hunger games, divergent, twilight (embarrassing, i know). But I also appreciate some higher quality reads such as the classics (Pride and Prejudice, The Sun Also Rises ), and educational books (especially student development theory or nutrition related).

Music definitely depends on my mood, I often just listen to the radio so get a bit of everything. But I have always been a major John Mayer fan. And also enjoy Mumord and Sons, NeedtoBreathe, The XX, Lana Del Ray, Sia, Ellie Goulding, Micheal Buble, etc.

All time favorite movies: Moulin Rouge & Pitch Perfect.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the amazing opportunity to take group of students to Puerto Rico on a community service trip. While we were there, I organized a late night kayaking trip to a bioluminescent bay. It ended up being a beautiful, clear night. Kayaking through a mangrove canopy under the stars was so serene and I was utterly awestruck upon entering the lagoon at bright blue glow of the bioplankton. The whole experience was one of the most incredible things I have ever experienced.
