We are Kai and Elliot; a 🇸🇬 Singaporean and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish couple roadtripping / backpacking through Europe this summer! Unfortunately, our driving and camping plans were cut short by the breakdown of our vehicle, but we're still keeping the adventure going!

Kai: I'm a student of international relations at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Looking to work in conflict prevention or international development, and used to study filmmaking and journalism. Passionate about Dungeons and Dragons and other games, my favourite authors (Asimov and Vonnegut) and reading on philosophy.

Elliot: I'm about to start an Erasmus Mundus joint masters in Eurasian studies in Estonia, Scotland and Kazakhstan. Love cooking, eating and travelling. Former co-president of the Glasgow University Eurovision Society and Treasurer of the Georgian Food and Wine Society. Speak Russian and very keen on exploring Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had a really good experience with using the couchsurfing app to meet new friends while travelling through Kazakhstan and Iran that I still keep in touch with, but haven't yet had the experience of actually couchsurfing!
