I currently work to improve the health of the River Thames. I love adventure, being on the move, nature, art. Obtained a PhD at Imperial for 3D imaging of active volcanoes, worked in New Zealand, visited >30 countries, yet to visit >150. Involved in "Effective Altruism", advocating for equal chances, clean Earth, less consumerism and more spirituality. In love with Africa (used to speak Swahili a bit), glaciers & waterfalls. Collecting music-gems, short stories and deep experiences. A mountaineer who goes sailing from time to time. Fond of cooking, animals (note the comma!), tennis and quantum mechanics. I pick up litter when I go for a walk. I have done several long biking trips around Europe, e. g. beyond the Polar circle in Norway. Still unable to choose between long cycling trips and hitch-hiking ;P
