Hi, I am Kajetan, 29 years old and graduated in Music, currently I mostly teach in Music Schools (replacing ill fallen colleagues). I always lived in Belgium, but lived almost one year in Moscow as an exchange student, and visited Poland very much, since my grandmother and other family members still live there. I very much love spending time with people, listening to stories, going for walks in nature or visiting cities. I try to avoid travelling by airplane and by car, although I like to hitch-hike.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always wanted to travel, but I am usually quiet scared to go out of my comfortzone. Thus I became a member of the community. I like talking with other people, learning from other people... Or cycling or walking together, eating (!) together, going to the riverside being quite and both reading a book... Many things are good. Discussing, agreeing or disagreeing :-)

Interests

I like cycling and walking trips. But maybe even more spending time in cities, enjoying a nice coffee, or some freshly tapped beer. And talk.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I always forget movie titles and names of moviedirectors, but here are some movies I now (writing this text) remember having a lasting impression on me:
The Man without a Past from Aki Kaurismäki, A Pigeon sat on a Branche Reflecting on Existence - Roy Andersson, many movies from Pedro Almodovar, Dogville - Lars Von Trier, movies from Krzysztof Kieślowski (La Double Vie de Véronique, Trois Couleurs Blanc, Bleu, Rouge ) movies from Tarkowski, Liebe in den Gängen - Thomas Stuber... And much more. I simply very much like watching movies, not only arthouse movies, it can be lots of genres, if the movie is well crafted. But I certainly don't like Marvel etc. - or maybe you can change my mind?

Music: I mostly listen to classical music and jazz and try to go to these kind of concerts. Lately a friend made me discover Chris Potter and I listen a lot to his recording with Dave Holland and Zakir Hussain. The latest concert I went to was Fanny Azzuro playing Rachmaninov préludes. But I can enjoy a lot of genres. I used to listen a lot to Coldplay, somehow I like high male voices in pop music :-) And sometimes Rod Stewart, funk, Eminem... just depending on my mood :-)

Books: Dostoevsky, Bulgakov, Tolstoy, Dovlatov, Gogol, Primo Levi, Elena Ferrante.

I like sometimes just sit and fully listen to recordings (completely) together with a friend or with my parents and enjoy and discuss the music.

I want to discover theatre, I know almost nothing about it.

I like art museums and other museums also (history, technical...), because you always discover something about a certain time period, and I usually don't read a lot of non-fiction myself. I am the kind of guy that in a museum wants to read every little text.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook! I actually enjoy tidiyng up, cleaning, washing... I can help in the garden. I can listen to someone playing his or her instrument and give feedback.
