Overview
About Me
I like to think that possibilities are endless and while some find my constant 'on the go' lifestyle a little crazy and busy, I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience and the knowledge that comes along with it! I've moved around a lot within the last few years (both within the US and internationally) due to educational and career pursuits. When people ask me the dreaded 'where are you from' question, my response is normally that I am a Malaysian, who is sorta' American 😁 (but one's life is never so straightforward now, is it?!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because as much as I'd like to think that I travel and move a lot, it seems like I have barely touched the surface! I am no stranger to moving and starting anew in foreign lands, and have come to learn that the best way to do it is to know a local or two to share the adventure with!
Interests
My hobbies include learning languages (autodidact), music and arts/dance, as well as futbol/soccer, to name a few. I have also recently started taking some boxing classes and am surprised to find that I like it more than I think/thought I would!
Random Fact: I love paper planners, notebooks, journals and fountain pens (you get the point). The sound of scribbling something down and flipping through pages give me this weird sense of joy!
Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is all over the place... from Gregorian chants, to K-pop, to Spanish music, to classical music!
Long list of favourite books and movies... some films or docufilms that I recently watched and stood out to me: 'Still Mine' (film), and a documentary called 'The Only Son'.
Netflix shows: Dark (German), Cobra Kai (brought back fond memories of practicing the crane with my brother as a kid 😂)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I find these kinds of questions difficult to answer as I try to find the 'amazing' in little daily things!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a decent cook, language exchange if target language of host is one that I speak well, tales from my travels, and honestly, just a chat over a hot cuppa tea will make my day (and hopefully yours too!)
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Myanmar, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam
Countries I’ve Lived In
France, Malaysia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
