About Me

Hi! I'm Kaleb. Just like "Caleb," but with a K.

I'm your typical "passionate about all things art" guy. After completing my BFA in Dance, I joined a professional ballet company in Hartford, CT. I would love to be a host, but since I'm just renting a room, I'm unable to offer this type of assistance to others at this time.

I grew up in a home of 5 children, with a homeschooling education consisting of heavy English, writing, math, science, and foreign language studies, in addition to building with legos and wrestling with my brothers in the living room. I am a partially classically trained, partially self-taught pianist, an informal singer, an amateur composer and arranger, a hobbyist thespian, and a university-trained concert dancer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the opportunity to learn from all kinds of people of different backgrounds and life experiences, and gaining more appreciation for cultures all over the world is a very fruitful, enriching experience. Meeting new people is one of my favorite things to do, and I'm happy to talk about most anything: philosophy, current events, the arts, pop culture, politics, or even the weather. :) I love to travel whenever I get the opportunity, and although I have not yet been able to use couchsurfing in my own journeys, the prospect is very exciting to me!

I think Couchsurfing is a great, simple way that people around the globe can do little good deeds for their fellow man, offering a roof to sleep under, one of the most basic needs.

Interests

I love finding new ways to appreciate the beauty of the world. I lots of outdoorsy things like hiking, cycling, camping, and kayaking. I am not very good at sports, but I have a slowly growing appreciation for their inherent value in society.

Aside from loving people and animals, and discovering ever more art-related things that I love, much of my remaining passion is devoted to the enjoyment of FOOD.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy the cool hip current indie trends quite a lot, as well as a smattering of most other genres, including classical, jazz, hip hop, gospel, and country. If you have any interesting music from some other part of the world, I'd love to hear it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think everyone's definition of amazing is different, and because I find a lot of excitement and enjoyment in most aspects of life, I do TONS of amazing things all the time!!! But they may have only been amazing to me...

In other news, I have hiked in the Alps, swam in the Mediterranean Sea, watched Shakespeare in the Globe Theatre in London, and performed dance works in two different international dance festivals in South Korea.
