About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Save money, go somewhere new.

ABOUT ME

I'm generally an optimistic, restless, wanderer. I'm terrible at making decisions, and excellent at being spontaneous. All I really want to do is explore the world, hang out with animals, play my banjo, grow my own food, learn new things every day, and be a good friend, lover, and human.

PHILOSOPHY

"It's your movie." -Lloyd Wilson

"Our lives are not as limited as we think they are; the world is a wonderfully weird place; consensual reality is significantly flawed; no institution can be trusted, but love does work; all things are possible; and we all could be happy and fulfilled if we only had the guts to be truly free and the wisdom to shrink our egos and quit taking ourselves so damn seriously." -Tom Robbins

"There's only one rule that I know of, babies—God damn it, you've got to be kind." -Kurt Vonnegut

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few times, but I regularly have unofficial couch surfers (friends, bands, etc) staying at my house these days. I've couchsurfed through Europe and the United States, and have had all positive experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Smoked a rose hookah in my backyard with my first Belgian couchsurfer and met up with him in San Francisco on my birthday years later.
In Manchester, England I found my host by looking for the gold statue without a face contact juggling a glass ball on Market Street. We found him, he ruled.
I randomly met 2 couchsurfers from Oregon at a Taco Bell in Amarillo TX and ended up joining them for a week on a rattlesnake roundup adventure in Sweetwater.
Co-couchsurfed with a Slovenian guy who turned out to have the same birthday as me, and who had stayed with my next host the week before me.

Interests

Traveling, music, art, nature, animals, organic farming, sustainable living, unconventional lifestyles, experimental culinary adventures, spiritual humanism, old men/women with great stories and no filter, whiskey, the truth, and those people you meet throughout life who change the course of your reality with an immediate connection (members of my "karass").
