About Me

CURRENT MISSION

determining how to employ myself properly

ABOUT ME

I currently am self-employed and now doing projects for a publisher and other instiutions mainly dealing with archaeology. Besides that I make music (playing bass) and into travelling. I think a lot about... a lot, I am definitely a dreamer, and therefore a bit clumsy. I am really eager to discover and explore. And I even do that every now and then! ;)

PHILOSOPHY

I live because I do and even though I sometimes am hesitant, I want to explore, learn, enjoy and help others

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am willing to host people for several days upto a week, (but am flexible about that). The best experience are the ones that you don't plan too detailed or come as a complete surprise!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mainly hosting, but sometimes surfing too. a great way to meet people and discover places from a different perspective

Interests

Music, people and knowledge about whatever there is to know. Interacting with people and sharing knowledge and sharing experiences. I like the process of blending and mending creative ideas into something that will result in exceeds the sum of the individual parts. For example with my band. Either to guide or to be a part of it. together people can achieve much more than alone if everyone play their part.

Music, Movies, and Books

www.last.fm/user/kalekees for the music but recommend me anything please!! I don't watch too many movies, but favour arthouse movies. I read scattered things, usually what people recommend to me. I love to read things that I don't know or that have a different view from what I have.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Petite Terre (two uninhabited islands near Guadeloupe, FWI).
I had the privilige to be there for five days. Sleeping in a hammock in between the palm trees while trying to find remains of ancient people. The Iguana's are beautiful.

the Chihuahua Desert.
The Great Wide open, it is nothing I have experienced in Europe.

The Big Island of Hawai'i
- The volcano park is tremendous, the wild dolphins exciting, and the stars on top of Mauna Kea overwhelming. It is so tempting to go back. The only place where I saw something without a telescope that is outside our Milky Way... the Andromeda Galaxy.

Bosnia!
I travelled there in the summer of 2010 with my band and it was a special entry into Bosnia. Beautiful country, wonderful people. I encourage everyone to go.

Teach, Learn, Share

Frozen spinach packs from the grocery store (10c a piece) are great coolants to chill anything you like while travelling and afterwards you can eat it too.

Otherwise I am very curious about everything, which doesn't mean I am into everything. I like to share what I can.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Martinique, Mexico, Morocco, Romania, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
