ABOUT ME

I'm always game. People tell me that I know a lot of things. I take advantage my natural attention-deficit by trying to learn something about almost everything. I'd rather be over- than under-stimulated. One of my earliest goals in life was to be able to have a conversation with anyone about anything. I'm getting there.

I haven't worked a normal job for 8 years but have been self-employed variously as an IT consultant, programmer, and designer. I'm launching a data visualization company with strong focus on design and influence from Tufte (www.edwardtufte.com if it interests you). I like to lend my skills to non-profits when I have time.

I'm as happy enjoying intelligent conversation over a bottle of port as I am group-singing Iron Maiden in a karaoke room or dancing all night to Scottish indie rock.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had some great people stay on my couch through the traditional couch surfing network, for a while I was putting up a lot of bands; I would make them buffalo steaks and eggs in the morning and they leave feeling good and well-sorted.

I'm easy going, so I've had only good experiences. Even the worst case only means a good story.
