ABOUT ME
I am originally from the frozen land of Russia - a country of nuclear bombs, ballerinas and long long lines. I've lived in America for almost 10 years now, which does prove that I'm capable of commitment. When people ask me why I moved to the States, I rarely know how to answer: to answer honestly, I would have to go all the way back to 1981 - when I was purged from my mother's womb into a cold, brightly-lit world filled with hospital smell.
To give you the short version, I was born into a traditional atheist Russian-Greek family, but what they lacked in religion they made up for with good old-fashioned bourgeois morality. This is the part where I discover my rebellious nature and a taste for adventure and chaos. Quickly and irrevocably I become the black sheep of the clan and decide to flee to the States - a paragon of freedom, or so it seemed in 2001, pre-September period. And so began my journey from the humble beginnings of a little Russian girl in Russia to the heights of the American lower middle class...ahh...those were the days...
About me: I like Russian literature, French cinema and Arabic music. I hate raisins, tumors and neo-cons. Last year I went to my "historic motherland" - Greece - and discovered the cosmic bliss of small Greek tavernas. I still get nauseous from the smell of ouzo. I doubt everything. If we ever have a conversation and you start to wonder whether I'm being sarcastic, you're wise to be suspicious. I love a good argument but I also love to just goof off and laugh at the stupidest things. I like oxygen, water and shelter. I collect images of broken things. I'm a good listener. And I'm a travel opportunist - that's why I'm on this site.
