About Me
+++ PLEASE NOTE: I AM CURRENTLY TRAVELLING THE WORLD, THEREFORE I CANNOT HOST.+++
CURRENT MISSION
Learn, live, think.
ABOUT ME
I am an Australian who spent two years travelling and working through Canada, two years in London, and 15 months in Germany. I have met many amazing people travelling. I love meeting new people each day and learning from them. I'm taking a few years off before committing myself to a PhD. I also laugh a lot. My motto is low expectations = high satisfaction. I even have it on a shirt. If you choose me as a couch surfer, I will buy you a six pack of beer. Or a six pack of fruit juice.
PHILOSOPHY
I try my best to live my life with an open mind. I have worked as a tutor, writer, researcher, nanny, waitress, bartender, receptionist and many other jobs. I like to see the best of what the world has to offer, and to do that, you have to stay flexible!
This is your life. DO what YOU love and do it often. If you don't like something, change it.
If you don't like your job; quit.
If you don't have enough time, stop watching TV.
If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing the things you love.
Stop over-analysing, life is simple.
All emotions are beautiful; when you eat, appreciate every last bite.
Open your mind, arms and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences.
Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I tell everyone. Word of mouth, it was there before the internet. When I get into larger cities, I hope to be active in quite a few groups. Surfing at the moment, but when I get home, I hope to host as many people as I can!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't yet started to properly couch surf. Would love to try soon. If you choose me as a couch surfer, I will buy you a six pack of beer. Or a six pack of fruit juice.
Interests
I am quiet and shy when I first meet people. Once we get to know each other, most people say that I am a riot. I can be sensible when I need to be and let loose when it needs to happen. I am interested in sustainable lifestyles without the pretentiousness. I love animals, watching children run, literature and philosophy. I am experimenting with living and travelling with a low income lifestyle ($20000 or less/year).

Music, Movies, and Books
I love things that can make me laugh, think, and can change my perspective of the world. Bit of a serial junky, The Wire, Adventure Time, Archer, The Simpsons, Twin Peaks, American Dad, Flight of the Conchords, Community, Parks and Rec, Strangers With Candy, Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development, Orange is the New Black, SOA, GOT, old Futurama. I'm reading a lot of Noam Chomsky and Arthur Rimbaud and listening to a lot of Brian Eno/Kraftwerk. Don't even ask me about music, I have a very full 160gb iPod and I love discovering new music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen the aurora borealis with my own eyes. I have also walked very fast away from a big black bear. I have drunk the best wine and eaten the best crepes in France (and possibly, the world). I have waded through the Aqua Alta in Venice. I have held baby sloths and gorgeous howler monkeys in my arms. I have driven from one end of Canada to the other, kissed the Blarney Stone, and played in a spontaneous big band session under a bridge on the Seine.
I have also seen a singing bin in Liverpool!
Teach, Learn, Share
I once was a competitive surfer, so I can give people tips about that and also tips about rip tides and other 'surprises' that the ocean can throw in your face. I can play the didgeridoo, the guitar and saxophone. I am pretty good at computers. I like dressing up to surprise my roommates. Nothing says welcome home better than having a Storm Trooper, Darth Vader, a zombie or a 14th Century medicine man greeting you as you walk through the door! I can, surprisingly cook well. I believe that of you are travelling in a country that speaks a different language than you, you should at least attempt to learn how to speak it. I can say "I'm sorry, I can't speak [random language]" in several languages.
