Overview
About Me
Hi, you can call me Alex or Kalle, a half Finn-Thai, looking like your average Asian dude. Been a Bangkok boy for 22 years and had enough of the heat so I'm living in London now. Working as a freelance writer.
I'm a friendly, openminded and have a good sense of humor. I find people who share the same passion for traveling very interesting and I always love hearing and sharing stories together.
I started backpacking while I was studying in Thailand, and found that it was one of the best experiences of my life. I got to make new friends and just go wherever the wind takes me throughout the day. I find love in every place that I visit and the locals I meet. I enjoy seeing the city and town, taking in the nightlife and late afternoons. Trying all the local delicacy and chatting around with the old folks who've seen the seasons changed.
Enjoying a cold beer with some friends playing music around the bonfire always sound like a good idea.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My friend suggested my this site because as a constant traveler, it's a good way to get in touch with the locals and safe cost.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Once is Barcelona, Spain 2015. Short trip for a couple of days for work and managed to find a place for one night there.
Interests
Cultural diversity, meeting new people, living life, experiencing new things all the time. Writing and doodling whatever idea that comes to my mind. Sharing stories and telling tales. I used to skateboard back in Bangkok but now I'm just skating Penny.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a wide range of music taste, from Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Doors to bands like The Strokes and The Libertines. And maybe some bebop or swing when I'm cooking dinner.
Woody Allen. Tarantino.
Forest Gump and Benjamin Button is my two all time favorite movies.
I read loads of book at a time, mostly depending on what my interest is, now I'm currently into Hemingway and Tobias Wolff, along with Osamu Tezuka, the God of Japanese Manga.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It was the most beautiful summer and I was sitting on a bench having sandwich for lunch in Central Park and reading a book by J. D. Salinger. I'm a simple guy who enjoys a good book and a nice park!
And maybe tubing along the Namsong river in Vang Vieng, Laos - had the time of my life. Check out 'tubing vangvieng' to see what I mean.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can shed some light about hanky-panky topics in Thailand along with amazing 'one night in Bankok' stories. I can teach you some Thai street slang that will awesome to know. Share views on different cultures such as European and Asian.
Have a good talk over some good food, did I tell you I worked as a chef in London? And maybe teach you some bartender tricks while I'm at it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
