About Me
CURRENT MISSION
At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities. -Jean Houston
ABOUT ME
First of all, this feels a reminiscent of a dating service, but now that we've got that squared away a little more about myself:
- I am a student, 23 years old, studying International Relations and minoring in Leadership Studies and Spanish Studies at the University of Minnesota
- Currently studying abroad in Toledo, Spain
- Plans of attending law school Fall 2012
- I enjoy watching documentaries/I'm a news junkie
- Things I care deeply about: education, food safety, politics, environment, human rights and justice
- I'm a dog person.
- I enjoy the simple things in life, like the cold side of the pillow, leaves crunching under my feet in the fall or the first signs of spring after a grueling winter
PHILOSOPHY
"To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just recently joined this site while studying abroad, so I haven't been home to host anyone... yet. In the past my roommates and I have hosted many friends and friends of friends from all over, just without the "couchsurfing" label. I participate here in Toledo by meeting up for drinks or to explore this great city we live in. Can't wait to get home and host myself!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since I am new to couchsurfing, I have only had one experience. Stayed in Barcelona for the weekend and had a wonderful experience, it definitely made my trip all that much better to hang out with a local and really get a feel for the city beyond the typical touristy destinations (which I saw, of course, while she was at work :) )
