About Me

ABOUT ME

In one sentence: I'm low-key, but occasionally bubbly - sort of like an aging golden retriever.

Details:

I was born near Charleston, SC, but my family moved to a farm in the Middle of Nowhere, SC when I was 11; it was here that I found my love for horses and continued my deep love for dogs. Chickens, however, I will always feel ambivalent about, and pigs...pigs over 200 pounds kind of scare me, but I'm trying! I did meet some pigs in Costa Rica whose company I enjoyed, so I would like to say I'm working on the fear haha.

I moved to Asheville a week before my 22nd birthday and enjoyed the hell out of that city until I left for Costa Rica shortly before my 25th. I plan on living in Asheville AND Charleston semi-permanently again some day, but for now, I've definitely caught the travel bug.

I have been working in the music industry - as well as serving and bartending to save up travel money - but after living in Costa Rica, I've discovered I adore teaching. My plan for the next year is to get my TEFL diploma and teach all over the world. Then, one day, I can maybe host students from all over the world at my home when I finally settle down.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hostels are overrated. Couchsurfing is more about the experience with locals, which is exactly what I want. I'm normally such a planner when it comes to everything, but I like the nomadic feeling that comes with couchsurfing... whilst still having the semi-reliability of knowing you have a place to stay.

I truly believe every person has an interesting story, and I'm working on a project about this; therefore, i'm pretty keen to use couchsurfing as a source of information, fun, and travels.

I also cook a pretty mean Southern supper, so.... Also, as a guest, I am super low-key and always strive to read the host I'm staying with. If you want to hang out, I'd love to! If not, I am perfectly content entertaining myself. I'm a social introvert, so although I really enjoy talking and getting to know people, it's not something I have to engage in to feel content. I also am happy to help out around the house if there are some things you need help with. Please don't hesitate to ask.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My Spanish is getting pretty decent, so I'd say I could give basic lessons.

I am a decent cook, so I will happily return your hospitality in the form of making you some supper.

I love writing poems and limericks.
