ABOUT ME
Honestly, I don't really know where to begin describing myself in just a few words. I aspire to be a versatile person, who loves life as it comes. I am down to earth, I'm positive, optimistic and I love having fun. Generally, I try to do good and to put in my two cents into making this world a better place.
PHILOSOPHY
- Treat others like they want to be treated (with respect and consent).
- Everyone deserves kindness.
- A day without laughter is a day not fully lived.
- People aren't wrong; they're different. Live and let live.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe Couchsurfing is a great way to Travel and meet new and interesting people!
Interests
I love life, trying to live it to the fullest.
Music, Movies, and Books
The term 'favorite' is pretty relative - as it is changeable, depended on many factors, such as time, place and mood.
MUSIC; I'm a musical omnivore; I love (almost) all music. Especially jazz and trip hop. But also rock or pop.
e.g. RHCP / Beatles / Thievery Corporation / bonobo / Penguin Orchestra / PJB / Einaudi
BOOKS; Fantasy genre (wot, asoiaf, lotr, HP, his dark materials). I also like novels or thrillers or anything interesting.
- The Four Agreements- by Don Miguel Ruiz
MOVIES; scifi, fantasy, anime, drama, comedy, thriller.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visited 30 countries before I turned 30.
Once, during summer in France, I was camping with travel-friends. The nights were very warm, so we've decided tot sleep outside near the campfire, beneath the stars. The skies where clear and you could see the entire milky-way. I've never felt more whole. It was truly amazing...
Experiences like these are worth it all.
In 2011 I went solo to Sweden. I lived and studied there for half a year.
For one year during my master, I lived in a converted container by myself.
It was very small, but I loved the experience.
In 2013 I hitchhiked for the first time in France, in 2014 I hitchhiked from the Netherlands to Sweden and back, in 2016 I hitchhiked from the Netherlands to Belgium and back.
2016 I hitchhiked (first and last time) alone in Croatia.
Hope to continue my hitchhike adventures in the future!
Teach, Learn, Share
No one ever knows enough, so I try to learn as much as possible. I love art, politics, philosophy and poetry. I really like to share ideas, be it philosophy, ideologies, music, artwork or otherwise visualized ideas. I don't know what I can teach you, but I believe every person you meet in life gives you an unique insight, or even a new perspective, since everyone knows something you don't. So, I always listen curiously to what others have to say.
Hopefully we can make a positive impact on each others life, no matter how small.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my cooking skills with hosts. I really like gastronomy and experimenting with food. I love sharing good stories with each other, or just exploring the surroundings together.
People tell me I'm positive, cheerful and bubbly.
