Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and surf as well. I would like to become more involved with Couchsurfing events in the area, or perhaps, host an event myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couchsurfing experiences in December 2009 and most were beyond wonderful :) one was rather disappointing and shocking ;( but what can you do? Happy Couchsurfing to All!

Interests

some of the things i enjoy include photography, painting, art of all genres, live music, experiencing other cultures, trying new cuisine, experimenting in the kitchen, traveling/backpacking, volleyball, boxing, soccer, kayaking, camping, hiking and just being on foot, the number 3, the outdoors, trees, maps/globes, hugs, random acts of kindness, acknowledgments, feeding and clothing the homeless, new experiences and new beginnings..

Music, Movies, and Books

Turning the Mind Into an Ally, written by Sakyong Mipham, a highly regarded Buddhist teacher. With humor and simplicity, he addresses the inherent compassion, wisdom and courage in all of us. He shows his readers how to develop a more balanced, harmonious way of living and thinking. Regardless of your background or religious belief, this book contains meaningful food for thought ;)
I also enjoy reading text books! ;)~ I love learning and expanding my mind. I could get lost in a pathology or anatomy text book for hours....or just give me a map, an atlas or a globe ~ i'll be lost in my own little world in no time!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i have traveled to places where mother earth was the care giver and no one knew any different...no running water, no electricity, everything tattered..and then there was me, coming from the land of opportunity and often times what feels like the land of greed, it was one of the most eye opening experiences i could have had in my life..to communicate with others through only kind acts and smiles - it is the best language..the language of love and compassion - if only i could teach the world how to share our hearts with one another in such capacity...i would be the luckiest lady on the planet ;) much love to the world..may everyone feel it in their soul!
