Hello everybody! I`m Kalo and I pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree in Lancaster University, UK.

I spent the last two summer breaks working in the food and beverage industry. I worked as a busser in an Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and was also trusted to close and open the restaurant. I also worked in a Greek fine-dining restaurant as a server. That gave me valuable work experience and funny stories I`m happy to share with everyone :)

I consider myself to be an easy-going, hard-working, well-educated and open-minded young man. I have a passion for sports and outdoors activities. I have trained football (soccer), swimming and volleyball. I`ve also done ski racing and freestyle skiing for ten years. Now I`m into windsurfing. I windsurfed at Bulgaria, Greece and Egypt.

I love socializing as I`m always happy to learn new opinions and make friends. I also like workouts and hiking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Get the chance to explore places far away from home, meet locals and make new friends. I`ve learned a lot about different cultures through hosting people from all around the world (on a another social platform - AISEC). I consider CS an amazing opportunity!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don`t have a strong preference for a particular genre of music. I enjoy all types of music and listen to songs of many artists. As for movies, I really enjoyed drama and thriller movies, but since recently I`ve been watching movies that enrich me in a way. Reading books is one of my favorite activities and I like both fiction and non-fiction literature. I love playing and watching sports.

I can teach sports and some suggestive selling techniques I learned when working as a server at two busy restaurant in New York. I`m always inquisitive and eager to learn new facts and stories.
