About Me

I am a kazakh international student currently studying in Hungary, Debrecen. I have tonns of (a bit nerdy) hobbies - avid gamer, passionate reader, dnd DM, wannabe geopolitical analytics. You know, that kind of stuff. I am also a rather open minded and liberal person, meaning I do not have any prejudices and I do not put any stigmas on people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I have just recently became a person with a space to host people and a freedom to travel, couchsurfing is basically a win-win option for me, providing (potentially) tonns of engaging interactions and pure fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am very fond of fantasy literature - J.R.R. Tolkien and Terry Pratchett are my idols. I also enjoy reading historic and self-help non-fiction. Some of the classics have left a lasting impression on me too.
To be more precise, my, probably, favourite book is Tolkien's "Hobbit". "1984" of J. Orwell and Remark's "All Quiet on the Western Front" are other honourable mentions

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to hold a tiger kitten in my hands a long time ago. That was quite scary tbh

Teach, Learn, Share

I am quite good in all three languages that I speak, so I could teach a thing or two about them. I also have quite a good knowledge of world history and contemporary politics. I have visited some 20 countries, so I could tell you a story or two about them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Usually my international friends find discussing culture and history of countries of the former USSR to be most engaging with me. As I have grown up in a post-Soviet country, I have a rich luggage of historic and cultural knowledge that might interest, engage, or even shock almost anyone who did not research this region specifically.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russian Federation, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States, Uzbekistan

Countries I’ve Lived In

Hungary, Kazakhstan
