About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to enjoy the adventure of life

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small country town in Queensland, Australia. As soon as I was able I began traveling, at first short distances, then before I knew it I was living in London. After a couple of years I headed home and settled into a life of study in Brisbane where I met my husband, Simon. We both are relaxed and easy going, always ready to try new things and meet new people. We have had a couple of big overseas adventures, before we settled the rural hub that is Rockhampton, for about 3 years. In 2010 we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Mia, into the world and have been delighted by the joy and challenges she has brought to our life. We moved back to Brisbane about a year ago. While Simon has to work full time, I have the luxury of being at home with Mia. We have now welcomed a second daughter, Astrid.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

During our time overseas we participated by meeting other couchsurfers through gatherings and meetings and surfing the occasional couch. While in Rockhampton we hosted a number of surfers. Soon we will be ready to start hosting surfers in Brisbane.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our first couchsurfing experience was in Helsinki and we could not have asked for a better host, and again in Prague and London, we met such unique and genuine people that we now think of as friends. During our time in New York and Seattle we attended CS gathers and met some highly entertaining, passionate and friendly people who gave valuable advice and told inspiring stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Heading home after an interesting adventure in Prague, lead by our miraculous host, we climbed up to a vantage point that looked out over the city. In the early hours of the morning, as the day broke, the light was perfect and the remarkable beauty of this unique city, in the quiet still hours of early morning, was revealed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook a little and am happy to share that. Simon is a photographer and has studied digital media at university, so is able to share that knowledge.
