About Me
ABOUT ME
Well, my name is Cyril, I was born in Washington DC in 1987, from a French couple, my father being a diplomat and my mother working in the high administration.
I lived most of my life in Paris (18 years out of 23). The rest I lived it in Geneva, Switzerland, a lovely country that I now consider as my second hometown.
I've always loved languages and lived in an international environment. I got a masters in translation in English and Italian. I now study Japanese too.
PHILOSOPHY
You can do whatever you want in life, as long as it does not harm anybody else.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't had any so far. In fact, the only CouchSurfing experience I've ever had was a CouchSurfing party in Rimini where I learned more about the site and where I met plenty of interesting people from Bologna, Poland, Germany...

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movie : selecting just one is very hard but I would definitely say Virgin Suicides, though I have a thing for Won Kar Wai's movies (In The Mood For Love is incredible... lately, I was very impressed with My Blueberry Night). Then there are two other movies that I just LOVE : Paris, Je t'aime and Memoirs of a Geisha.
Music : mostly R'n'B but I adore Sharleen Spiteri's band Texas. I also enjoy Japanese singers (J-pop) as well as Italian ones (Luciano Ligabue first!!)
Books : I really opened up to reading only two or three years ago when I got to university. However my favorite book is one I read a looong time ago, a book for children called Skellig. It was a very sweet story, of a little boy moving into a new house who found a fallen angel in his backyard cabin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Things I've seen that were a little... disturbing : a street sweeper, a homeless and a preist, the three of them wearing Dolce & Gabbana shades in Rome... go figure!
Then the most amazing thing : the Dune Rose ("Pink Dune") in Mali. It was part of a two-week trip there... Thinking about it still gives me the shivers.
