I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, but I've been moving around a bit lately, trying to make a focused effort to gain experiences and learn languages: 2005-6 in Germany, 2007-8 in Egypt. I've been in Columbus, OH since then in a graduate program.

Only one couchsurfing experience so far, but it was one of the best trips of my life. Nothing beats seeing Istanbul with a generous couchsurfing host!

Have change in Egypt. 5's and 1's are crucial to your survival here, especially outside of Cairo and Alexandria. Not even ATMs have change sometimes. Not even government workers have change, and they print the money. KFC, however, does have change. Use it.
