About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Simply to ride and to experience and meet other cultures.

ABOUT ME

Moved from the UK in 1982 and have lived in Sweden since then. I'm beginning to get into the bugging out scene but my real passion is adventure motorcycling and hope to get in as many motorcycling adventures as possible before I'm too old. Started my bout with a ride around the Baltic States and Poland. The following year, I set off for southern Spain at the end of May for a month or so and then a ride in Rajasthan, India in December 2010. In 2011, it was a ride to the Pyrenees again with my then 11-year-old son riding pillion on his first adventure. My best ride so far was in Ladakh, in the Himalayas, riding up to 5602 m (Khardungla), although, that being said, the Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh in 2017 was the toughest and really something. In 2015, my son and I rode a VTX1800 from northern Wisconsin to LA. I would REALLY like to ride in Bolivia to cross the Salar de Uyuni and ride the Road of Death. Always have some future rides in the back of my head.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After a slow start, I've really got into CS and have now met quite a few wonderful members. In fact, a number of them are new friends whom I have regular contact with, staying with one another outside of CS. I think it's a great community.

Interests

Motorcycling, dogs, fell-walking, sailing and playing go. I would really like to see an active volcano.
