About Me

[*** PLEASE NOTICE: My home is in Shenzhen and not in Hong Kong, though they are really close. Normally there are different visa requirements for the two cities. So please make sure that you can stay with me in Shenzhen ;D ***]

*** CURRENT MISSION ***

Finished Gap Year. Starting New Life.

*** ABOUT ME ***

I really like to travel and meet different people so that I could know a little bit more about the world and people every time when I meet someone.

I just graduated and work as a product manager at Tencent, a giant IT company in China. Before I was remained economically independently for many years during my Bachelor and Master student time, so luckily I could and can try something interesting that I want to know. But I always try low-cost airlines/trains and budget accommodation.

I had a gap-year before in 2013. I've completed my Divemaster course, and since then I've dived in many places in South East Asia and Red Sea. Also, I went Netherlands to take a florist apprenticeship as floral design is one of my serious hobbies. Hitch-hiking experience from Beijing to Macau, Vipassana meditation 10-day course in Cambodia, couch-surfing in several friends' places made my journey meaningful. Fortunately I was invited as a TEDx speaker and a guest in a travel related TV program.

As my friend talk about me, I am really an 'interesting' and crazy person.

Before, I was a Computer Science student with long time experience of web designing and programming (then I switched my intention to product design and management after graduation), but I also 'minor' in floral design and scuba diving. I got an opportunity to make button-hole decorations for Jackie Chen before.

I also play piano, a little bit of guitar, Chinese gourd flute and I like to dance Cuban Salsa, though I am a beginner. I do photography but I broke my friend's expensive camera lens. ;)

I am someone with strong willing to try anything. I find myself more and more open-minded along the way traveling in different places as well as trying different hobbies and skills.

Sometimes, when I meet somebody that is not talkative (I am not so talkative too), I always have a strong feeling : "this guy must has some very amazing experience inside." :D So I don't like to tell anyone from his/her appearance.

As a way that you could know me more, I uploaded some pictures of my floral design works and sea creatures underwater. Go to my album and enjoy :D (Yes, I have much much more interesting and astonishing picture in my laptop)

*** PHILOSOPHY ***

And lost be the day to us in which a measure hath not been danced. by Nietzsche
每一个不曾起舞的日子都是对生命的辜负 by 尼采

That is the last tweet of one of my female friend who died in a bus crash in Mauritius as then a vice president of AIESEC in the country. Her last words encourage me all the time to appreciate every day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started to try Couch-surfing during my gap-year.

* 2013/3, Sieger in Sneek, Netherlands was the first CS friend who I met
* 2013/4, Benoît in Zhuhai, China was the first CS host who gave me a place to stay
* 2013/5, Cece in Pattaya, Thailand was the most unforgettable host who I regarded as a soul-mate since then.
* 2013/6, A hotel boss in Sihanoukville, Cambodia was the first host who wasn't in CS but provided me a couch during a mid-night when I walked in without finding other places to stay.

and

* 2015/9, Marria and Denis from Moscow, Ruassia were the first CS surfers that I host in Shenzhen, China!

The Art of Happiness by Dalai Lama

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After I met a Russian CS couple who hitch-hiked from Moscow to Shenzhen along with dozens of thousands of kilometers, I don't think my hitch-hiking experience from Beijing to Macau of 3,000km would amaze you and myself anymore ;(
