Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to find a way to explore the world while learning as much as I can about the various aspects of filmmaking.

ABOUT ME

Well where to start... Well, I've always had a strong sense of wanderlust. I would love to work for National Geographic some day. I have a million interests and a terrible time trying to decide which ones to focus on at any particular time.

I'm currently studying filmmaking and cinematography in Minneapolis. I accidentally stumbled across a film project toward the beginning of 2014 and I fell in love with it as a new art form. I previously studied environmental studies and French - two subjects that I still try to keep up with when I have the time.

PHILOSOPHY

Coffee shops make everything better.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime" -- a Mark Twain quote that's always resonated with me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I found out about this network from a wonderful former history teacher and I thought the concept was fantastic. I would love to travel the world, but as a broke college student, I haven't quite figured it all out yet. Here's hoping I can have more experience with CS sooner rather than later?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only used it once, just the night before a flight, but it was a great time. I had a chance to get to know a delightful CS member and see a part of town that I would not have found otherwise. I look forward to meeting more wonderful members of the CS community in the future.

Interessi

Like many people on CS, I have a strong desire to travel the world and learn about different culture. I love filmmaking, 35mm film photography, most art in general, and music. I used to dance when I was younger, and in the last couple years I've been taking ballet and a few miscellaneous classes which I thoroughly enjoy, time permitting. I was originally studying Art and French (which I'm now trying to pursue separately) and I love to play Ultimate Frisbee when I can. I've recently become involved in the indie film scene in Minneapolis, which is probably my new favorite thing.

Musica, film e libri

As I could never list all of them, here are just a few in no particular order:

Books - Harry Potter, Water For Elephants (the movie was pretty good as well)

Movies - Psycho, Reservoir Dogs, Harry Potter, The Fall, Batman, Momento, Pride and Prejudice, Fight Club, Sherlock Holmes, Moulin Rouge, and of course, Disney classics.
(it's so hard to choose favourite films!)

Music - The Black Keys, Jeremy Messersmith, Timeflies, Mumford & Sons, Andy Grammer, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles, The Killers.

And can I throw a favorite poet in there too? Baudelaire - a recent discovery thanks to my modern world literature class.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Although it's not one particular event or achievement, I think it's pretty amazing that I've chosen to pursue my passion as a career. Though I've come to reach this point in a more roundabout way, I'm excited to be studying what I truly enjoy and be working towards continued improvement.

Insegna, impara, condividi

I haven't tried teaching anyone about photography yet, but I'd definitely be game for trying it! I have taught several people how to play Ultimate Frisbee, or just how to throw a frisbee, which is always fun.

There are many things that I'd like to learn, a few of which include surfing, speaking French fluently, anything artistic, as well as everything else that strikes my fancy!
