Hey this is Cándido, originally from Córdoba, Andalusia (southern Spain). I graduated in Journalism in Granada at 24, then travelled China and Japan for a few months and then did my masters degree on Editorial Design in Barcelona.

Since then I've been touring full time my with my music band, in which I play guitar and with which I've been to 23 countries. When we are not on tour I also take some graphic design and copy writing jobs.

I am interested in sharing thoughts and opinions in different topics, specially regarding DIY, ecology, degrowth, music, art and creativity in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel off the path so I feel couchsurfing it's a great way to get in touch with the real soul of a country by having conversations with the hosts and sharing thoughts, seeing how they live and what they like. I've met wonderful people with whom I still keep in touch after years.

Interests

I'm specially into music (all kinds). I can play guitar and I also have some knowledge on music recording, sampling and electronic music composing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly enjoy contemporary fiction written in Spanish, from García Márquez or Vargas Llosa to Ray Doriva orJavier Marías. But I also like literature in other languages: Irvine Welsh, Henry Miller, Spanbauer, Raymond Carver..

For movies I'm mostly into independent stuff: Wim Wenders, Isabel Coixet, Sofia Coppola, Andrew Bujalski, Richard Linklater, Yorgos Lanthimos. But I also enjoy some mainstream movies like Star Wars.

I'm into all kind of music, from flamenco to hip-hop/rnb, punk, hardcore or minimal electronic. Some of my late favorites may be Kiasmos, Pinegrove, Touché Amoré, Tyler the Creator, King Krule or eevee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A 28 shows in a row tour along 13 countries with my band :D I also recall hitchhiking around Germany, Czech Republic and Poland as a great experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have some Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator knowledge I can share. I can also help with basic guitar learning, or music recording/production. And I can also make some basic Spanish/Andalusian cooking!

I'm a cheerful person willing to help if I can and share my knowledge. I'm generally quiet and polite but I think I can also laugh and have fun (:
