Overview
About Me
I am currently a graduate student, pursuing my PhD in Applied Mathematics from University of Cambridge. I am Indian, originally from Punjab (a north Indian state) but was there at Bangalore (a city in south India) for 4 years before moving to Cambridge, UK.
Why am I doing PhD? -- I don't know. I go wherever life takes me, and this happened.
Anything even remotely adventurous, I am up for it.
Travelling, hiking and sports- Can never say no.
I have a tendency to go philosophical at times, but otherwise I am a very happy go lucky person (I think!).
I love to meet new people and know about different cultures -- reason why I love travelling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Most of my life, I was an ignorant kid and had been always in my own small world.
Only when I started travelling, I figured out that this world and the people and their cultures were very different from my preconceived ones. All this was very intriguing.
Ever since then, I am an avid traveler. I love meeting new people, making new friends and witnessing different cultures and foods. This is my travel philosophy, and also the reason why I am here Couchsurfing.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music - mostly Punjabi and Sufi music.
Books- mostly non-fiction
Movies- Don't watch many movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Motorbike trip covering complete Indian west coast, that too during monsoon time. Loved it. Mountains, Backwater, Beaches all in one trip.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a researcher in Mathematics, and was an engineer before. I love technology and gadgets. I can share my knowledge about these subjects.
I cook Indian food at times, and people usually like it (not very experienced though!). I could share that.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could always share some spicy Indian food.
I am always down for some random adventure, and can also share my experiences so far.
