I'm pretty open minded and content to just sit back and listen. But I'm also not a huge fan of small talk so when I have conversations I try to put a lot of intention into meaningful exchanges. I'm queer friendly, I like to bike, look up at trees, laugh and am a really voracious snacker for all things cheesy and salty. I like to learn by doing and from the people around me. I think perspectives and expectations must be constantly evolving so I try to reflect as much as possible from the experiences I have and the communities I find myself in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like a lot of people attracted to couch surfing, it seems like one of the best ways to genuinely see a city, interact with the people that live there and make friends. It also says a lot of the generosity of hosts to open their homes (couches) to strangers and share bits of their lives for the brief time they're together. I love the expectation of conversation over payment, and I think that ends up with a lot more memories made than retreating to a hotel.

Interests

Biking, ultimate frisbee, hiking, drinking good beer, eating savory foods (especially those with cheese!), laughing and contemplating the whys and hows of life. My favorite trees are redwoods, although standing under anything green satisfies me. I like urban planning with a focus on building sustainable and healthy communities through architecture and urban design.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm currently listening to Junip, Fleet Foxes, Alt J, Sylvan Esso, Little Dragon, Edward Sharpe and Father John Misty. I also really love dancing to funk music.

I just recently saw Big Hero 6 and that might take the spot as a favorite movie of mine. I like to watch shows like Broad City, Portlandia, and Parks and Rec.

Rumi and other musings...I can never really finish books, but I've started a lot on different ways of thinking.
