Hey everyone! My name is Kara Oravetz, and I am a current senior majoring in Civil Engineering at NC State University here in Raleigh. I am originally from Cary, NC, a town that is only 30 minutes away from Raleigh. I am very familiar with the area, so I can easily show you around to some cool places!

I studied abroad a couple of years ago, and I loved getting to know the locals at each place I visited. I think getting to know people that actually live in the place you're visiting is the best way to learn. I am excited to host people, as well as stay with other people all over the world!

Intereses

If it's the weekend, you can probably find me sitting on my porch outside on a nice day or sitting in a coffee shop listening to a good podcast.

Construction is one of my biggest interests because I love seeing projects get built! I continue to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity on a regular basis, and I have served as a team leader for an annual trip with Appalachia Service Project.

I consider myself to be a music enthusiast. I have been to Bonnaroo the past couple of years with my best friend, and had an incredible experience. It's amazing how music can really bring people together!

I have ran two half marathons, and I am currently training for my first full marathon. Running in these races has taught me that I can do anything if I truly believe in myself and set my mind on a goal.
