About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I recently graduated with my master's in New Media Photojournalism. You can find my thesis project here (www.IWillGoBackTonight.com) and my other work here (www.karaframephoto.com). I hope to remain freelance for my career, but don't know if financially I will be able to afford that lifestyle. If not - I'm trying to take a big trip before getting a full time job. I knew one day I'd make it over to Europe but never really planned for it. This trip really grew to be a tour of Europe in an organic way and I am really excited to just see the continent :) I want to do CS because I think it's the best way to get to know a foreign city - through its people!!

ABOUT ME

Recent graduate from New Media Photojournalism. I moved from the Philadelphia area to Washington DC a little over two years ago and have really found myself through school. I absolutely love meeting new people and seeing new places. Over the past two years I've found a lot of joy in seeing more of my own country - something I never found interesting before. I've done a cross country trip which is the first time I used CS and had great experiences meeting fellow CSers. The US West is stunning and I'm so happy I had the chance to explore it via car. I love anything digital media related as it's pretty much my life. I love art, cooking, yoga (trying to practice more often), documentaries, and exploring!

PHILOSOPHY

Find what makes you happy and make it your life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

October and November 2015 I am traveling across Europe with my friend Erin Sutliff ( https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/arrin, AirBnB profile here:https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/6136087). Erin and I met 1.5 years ago working together in a coffee shop in Washington, DC. We both love good coffee, delicious food, and exploration of other cultures. We'll be traveling with yoga mats so if you know of any good *free* classes let us know! We both love to cook, we used to play soccer, and we are both Redditors! We are super down to earth and relaxed ladies - we both have worked years in the food/beverage industry and can enjoy a fancy dinner out just as much as a movie night in sweatpants. We are looking for people to host us who might want to show us around or simply make recommendations of where to go, eat, check out, etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In May 2014 I used CS to travel across the US and got to meet some really wonderful people. The reason I don't have more reviews is because my friend who I was traveling with also booked some of the stays which means he got the reviews instead of me.

In June 2015 I found a great couple to stay with in Charlottesville, VA during a photo festival which was fun! They were incredibly nice and even opened up their door to a friend who arrived to the festival late and had no where to stay.
