About Me

CURRENT MISSION

gain community, make some cool friends, make interesting bonds with people

ABOUT ME

I read cookbooks for fun and also to find the temperature for roasting a chicken (like I did the other day). It turned out very well. I also found out it was not exactly a chicken but some sort of bird that is a cross between a duck and a chicken. I think it starts with a "P." Oh, yes...it was a "Pintade." The color was a little yellowish gray. I didn't really care...it was delicious. By the way, it was about 1.5kg bird. I roasted it for 35minutes at 235deg Celsius and then for another 20minutes at 170deg. I at the time I turned the temp down I also flipped the bird over. I used a blue Emil Henri perfectly square baking dish. voila.

PHILOSOPHY

Be authentic. Say what you mean. Notice the little things and let them speak to you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to participate by cooking meals with others to enjoy together. I find it very fun to cook at home and eat great food while meeting new people. Of coure, drinking wine and tasting the cheeses of france can be a great addition as well. I have been obsessed with food for most of my life...although, i believe in a really healthy way. Also, I participate by answering emails and questions about Bordeaux, studying French in Bordeaux, living as an au pair in a foreign country, and by being myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met couchsurfing through James and Steph in Bordeaux and since then have had wonderful experiences with it. I am learning how to assert myself and contribute...I guess, to realize that my contribution is important and valued by others. I have couch surfed in France and most recently in Istanbul. I have met randomly with couchsurfers ( I mean without trying to meet with couchsurfers) and then just kept hanging around these people because they are wonderful. Now, I am reconnecting with couchsurfers here in Madison, getting to know people involved here, in this place that is closer to home for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen myself in many countries, hmmmm.... I've traveled a bit, but now I have actually stayed in one place for over a year! Now that's something. I think the most amazing thing I've done is learned how to be happy in my home state: Wisconsin (and not feel like I need to move away for at least a while).

oh, and I've played the viola in a rock band

Teach, Learn, Share

I really like to make people food. So, maybe I could make you a meal some time. Maybe we can tell jokes and laugh a lot. I think that laughter is a big key and laughing at myself... finding people that bring out my good qualities is important too. I can be quite the girly girl, too so it's nice to be around femininity or those who appreciate that about me. One day at a time...make good choices for a good life, take risks, love and give and accept. when the time's right, you know it.
