About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living up to the definition and meaning of "Humans" and Humanity". Also, trying to do the best I can do in this world, with whatever resources available. :)

ABOUT ME

I like to try things, but in the end, I am sticking to the things which make more sense to me, and if I can feel warmth and kindness in them. I like traveling, meeting new people, listening to their stories and doing something together. But it really depends on the day. There are some days when I would just like to be by myself, read a book, pen down my thoughts or do something I like, or be around some specific people, whom I love. I am friendly, funny and usually smiling, try to extract the best I can from this beautiful life. I love having long, deep conversations about life, the world, doing good in this world, cultivating the feeling of gratitude, kindness, love, and appreciating our existence in this curved space-time we inhabit. :) Practicing to listen more and cultivate this art.

I am in a phase of my life, where I am realizing a lot of things, learning so much, discovering myself, becoming aware of the things around, of our existence, opening up to this world, and to other people. Recently, my life flow is influenced the most by Yoga, medicine music, somatic practices, dance, handpan, mixing electronic music. :)

I have met some of the best people in my life while traveling and through couch surfing, and have revered amazing friendships with them. I think that people open to each other a lot while traveling, and you have some of the most wonderful conversations with them.

For me visiting a place is meeting people there and spending time with them.
If I am couchsurfing at your place, I would rather spend time with you than seeing buildings/attractions. I would be more happy in that. And if you are couchsurfing at my place, I will try my best to spend as much time as I can with you.

PHILOSOPHY

"If your life were a book and you were the author, how would you want your story to go?" This statement has influenced me a lot, and now I'm in the process of writing my own story, and it won't be complete without all the lovely people I have met, and will meet in future. Just do whatever you want, be whosoever you want. You always have a choice, make that choice and make sure you don't regret it. "We are just grown-up children who have forgotten what we used to be."

We all have the greatest gift in the world, to smile, so just do it and share as much as you can. It is one of those things, which you receive more by sharing more of it.

We all need to understand that irrespective of gender, nationality, sex, caste, religion, race, age, money, sexual preferences, we all are human beings, we are all the same generically. Kids don't differentiate while making friends, why should we!

I like The Paradox of Our Time by George Carlin.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Have hosted and surfed a lot, and have met some of the most excellent people a created beautiful memories, which I still cherish.

Interests

I practice yoga on the mat and try to take the philosophy with me off the mat. Learning to play medicine songs on guitar and freeing my voice which I feel has been suppressed since decades. I mix organic house electronic music and sometimes play at parties and festivals. I love Ecstatic Dance. Recently been doing some Contact Improvisation and have fallen in love with it. I like going to music festivals. Handpan and books are constant companions in my journey. I watched a lot of TED talks in the past. I would definitely recommend them. :)

I enjoy talking to people, sharing stories, learning about different cultures. I like listening to you. In this way, traveling helps a lot since it gives you an opportunity to discover the world and in turn, yourself too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sometimes, I'm 'book-high'. I read a lot (the definition of which could be different from person to person and situation to situation), which all started with a TED talk and it got me interested in a lot of things, like psychology. I mostly read non-fiction.

Medicine music, downtempo/organic house.

Two of my favourite TED talks. Check them out, you won't be disappointed after watching it. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In November, 2015 I did a Science Slam performance where I acted and danced my research, which was quite a lot of fun. :) Here's the link if you are interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AumnnBeSzJA

I was also on Croatian National TV. You can find me at 3:06. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBA2nLNt_8o&feature=youtu.be

I did a short mid-east Euro trip during Dec 2015-Jan 2016 for 4 weeks, which was a combination of hitchhiking and couchsurfing. Lots of kind souls around, and lovely memories. :)

During last week of Feb'16, I was hosting a couple of couch surfers from Poland (I should mention that I have a special connection with Poland and its people now, after my trip to Poland in Jan'16, they are some of the best people in the world, and their vodka. :D), and while eating and drinking during one of the evenings, we spontaneously decided to go to Amsterdam the next day for the weekend, and it was marvelous. :)

And if I could make someone smile and they could be happy because of me, that's a happiness factor for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Be yourself. Be crazy. It's not your job to think what others think about you, let them do theirs, otherwise they would go jobless, and you don't want them to be unemployed, isn't it? ;)

I'd be glad to share whatever knowledge I have, from totally disparate fields to closely related ones. :)

Everyone has to eat food but nobody wants to grow it. Everyone has to drink water but nobody wants to conserve it. Everyone has to breathe air but nobody wants to take care of it. Let's all get together, give a hand, and save this planet.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Be my host, and discover it yourself. ;) If I host you, my home is your home too. "Mi casa es su casa". So live like it's your own place. :)

I am vegetarian. But I don't mind people eating meat. They can eat whatever they want, even humans too. ;) So if I am around, I will spoil you with lots of delicious food. And I love cooking. Let's say, I will feed you like a grandma (that's what my friends say all the time :D).

And if you host me, I will live like it's my own home. ;) Just kidding.
I promise we will have the best of our times. And once we are friends, we are friends!

And may be I might play a private handpan concert for you. :)
