About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be ADVENTUROUS! Too travel and learn about the people and cultures of this world

ABOUT ME

Hey all! Been a member of CS for awhile, but over the last few years I've just kind of let life get away from me, as well as all the fun adventures CS bring to life. So, I am back in the game! Looking to host surfers as well as hang just for meet ups.

Little about me: I grew up here in St. Louis. Left after college to go travel/work my way through Australia, NZ, and SE Asia for 1.5 years. Came home, moved out to Southern Cali to continue my hobo lifestyle as a tour guide for an international tourism company. I was in charge of running adventure vacations focusing on hiking/camping in major National Parks of the US and CA as well as exploring big cities along the way. After 2 more years on the road, I moved back to St. Louis to change career paths and become a nurse. I have been living back in St. Louis for 2.5 years. Because of my love for adventure and spirit to discover new things, I have attempted to search out the coolest/most unique experiences this city has to offer. I love going to small indie concerts, know of lots of fantastic small neighborhoods to explore, and enjoy eating good/local food. If you come through the Lou and want an experience that doesn't involve the Arch and Anheuser Busch (although those are fun places too!), I would be interested in being your host.

I'm outgoing, laid-back (sometimes too much so), fun, and adventurous. Willing to try everything once. Grew up in the good 'ole Midwest of the USA. I love live music, going out, hiking, biking, and anything involving the outdoors. I also enjoy good, local food, and cooking. Reading is awesome too. As well as debating. I really enjoy listening to others opinions (especially when they differ from my own).

PHILOSOPHY

I live for experiences that make me a better person, and for experiences that help me understand/think about people in a better way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Been on CS since 2007. Started using it while I was traveling overseas. Hosted 1 person when I moved back home for a brief period with my folks, prior to taking a job in tourism which resulted in me kind of forgetting about the amazing CS experience. Back now for a second go round, since I have been living back in my hometown for awhile now and am looking for new ways to have adventure in my own backyard.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed through Australia and SE Asia over 5 years ago now. Hosted only 1 time (also years ago now). Looking to host more now that I feel I have discovered the underground beat of this city, that I used to think didn't exist.

Interests

I enjoy pretty much anything. Especially trying new things. I rarely say no to the possibility of a new experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Not so much into movies unless they are documentaries. I have a problems staying awake through most films (even action flicks).
Music: anything "indie". Cliché I know. Mostly rock inspired and folk-americana. I also love me some pop-synthe when I am in the right mood. Oh yeah, and anything with lots of amazing instruments (ie Beirut) I also love.
Books: anything! I love reading, and do it so frequently I don't find it necessary to own a t.v.
