About Me

Avis aux francophones, ne vous inquiétez pas! Je suis parfaitement bilingue, j'ai tout simplement la flemme de tout traduire. 😂

I'm a 6-foot-7-inches-tall (2 meters for you Europeans) gentle giant hailing from the Great White North that is Canada. I am solely motivated by the idea of filling my belly as well as my SD card while meeting new people on the go. I'll be undertaking a 60-day solo hitchhiking trip in Western Europe between July and September 2018, stretching from Paris to Bratislava, from Geneva to Berlin.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Simply put, I tend to not fit very well in any boxes society could try to put me into (and not only because I'm some sort of giant!) High-end hotels, guided tours and pre-planned nonsense; scratch that. I like simple and spontaneous things. This is why I chose to Couchsurf my way around. I want to be surprised. I want you to show me what you believe is worth seeing be seen, make me eat what you believe is worth tasting and make me live what you believe makes life worth living.

Interests

I'm deeply passionate about modern laws, newfangled technologies, the human behavior, ubiquitous gastronomy and cultures around the globe. I also am an avid photographer by day and a web enthusiast by night.

Music, Movies, and Books

You will find in my phone close to two thousand songs of various genres, sung in a variety of languages (I could easily count 12!) and belonging to multiple time periods. My favorite set of movies is easily the Hong Kong martial arts trilogy: Ip Man, based on the life events of Wing Chun master Yip Man. As for the books, even though I tend to read more digital information than paperback stories, my eternal "coup-de-coeur" author has to be Hermann Hesse, both for his prose and his creative genius.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am lucky enough to have been born and raised in Montreal, a French-speaking cosmopolis and true melting pot in mostly English-speaking Canada. If you'd like to learn or practice either French or English, I was blessed with the ability to have grown up speaking both. I'd be more than welcome to teach you either (or both!) during our encounter(s). As for me, if you happen to speak another language or if you know a thing or two about wine or photography, count me in!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good laugh. Or two. Or three. Aside from stories and good times, being from what will possibly be the other side of the world for you, I might bring a shift in your perspective on various modern social challenges and reflections that, otherwise, might have never occurred to you. However, as a 20 years-old student who aspires to become a lawyer but holds some assets in other domains of expertise, I can also provide you with photographs and a website to your own image and likeness. Oh, and being of Greek and Irish origin, it has blessed me with some pretty nifty cooking skills, I could easily help you throw together a meal and subsequently help with the chores. Cheers! :)
